I do not listen to that many podcasts, but there were a few that I wanted to share. Two related to the frontend, and one to video games.

There are other podcasts I might share in the future, but I felt that if I start from something — those three can be nice for that.

Igalia Chats

There is a big chance you’re already subscribed to this one — if you’re interested in Web Platform and everything surrounding it — Igalia Chats is one of the more thoughtful podcasts out there.

Its hosts are Brian Kardell and Eric Meyer, they work in Igalia, which is a fascinating co-op, and on this podcast they, well, chat. Usually, by inviting people from the industry, talking about the browser history, future of the web, and stuff like that.

In 2023, they even invited me for some reason, I don’t have any recollection of what we were talking about. Anchor positioning? Will not re-listen. But hey, since then, anchor positioning is now in all major browsers!

Anyways! Highly recommend. It is not super periodical, but whenever a new episode comes out, I am always happy.

Wonders of Web Weaving

While Igalia Chats was there for a while, this podcast is much more recent — and its run of 25 episodes is finished. There is a chance there will be another season, but even if not — I highly recommend listen through all episodes of Wonders of Web Weaving.

In it, James had conversations with people all around indie web, about how they get into it, their hobbies, their motivations, and other stuff.

Very warm conversations, and, for me, it was pretty curious to listen to many episodes of this podcast, as I follow many of the guests in Mastodon already, and also met many people, including James in person.

It was like sitting with them by the same table and listening to their conversation while drinking some tasty tea.

We need more podcasts like that.

Side Story

Finally, also not a super old podcast, from a completely different area of my interests — Side Story.

It comes out once every two weeks since April 2025, and in it a small swarm of hosts shares stories and impressions about various video games.

Occasionally, you might know about those games they talk about, but most often when I listen to them describe whatever is happening there, it feels like they just come up with that stuff on the go. Like surely, this sounds like a fever dream, it couldn’t be an actual game?

I stumbled upon this podcast because I occasionally follow what one of its hosts — Austin Walker.

If you’re into video games, or even if you were into video games, but are not following them closely, this is a great podcast. You don’t need to know anything about them, you don’t need to play them, it is just a pleasure to listen to those stories. Well, maybe not when they start talking about baseball, for some reason. But, maybe, I just need to get more those potions of love for it.

To Be Continued

Some of other podcasts I wanted to share might need a bit more preparation or extra content to share alongside.

I wrote this post for my “Share Saturdays” for this November’s challenge, and, initially, I wanted to share something else, like maybe about a video game I really enjoyed recently. But — I did not want to rush myself with thoughts about it, so decided to go with something lighter.

Not that those three podcasts are not worthy of more thoughtful descriptions, of course! But some others require either finishing listening to their episodes, or gathering additional resources to link alongside. And that’s maybe not for a post that I write in an evening.

Please share your thoughts about this on Mastodon!
